Robot Musicians

In a previous post we saw that quadrocopters (flying robots with four propellers) could make buildings in a future. Now we see that they can also play music.

In this case these robots have been developed by Vijay Kumar, from School of Engineering & Applied Science of Penn University (USA). During the demonstration they played different instruments such as a keyboard, a cymbal, a guitar, a tom and a sort of harp.

Robots had connected the elements to play the corresponding instrument.

For example, the tom robot had a stick connected to a little motor, which made the robot to beat the tom on the right moment. Keyboard was played by four robots, flying vertically down to push the keys.
